Alaska to many people means "Alaskan Cruise". It's got to be one of the most popular ways to visit Alaska.
I have to admit - I used to think that cruises didn't really show the "Real" Alaska. People only sail in and spend a few hours walking around Sitka or Valdez. In my mind, I thought they were getting the fantasy world of Alaska, like Disneyland - AlaskaLand.
But now I realize that Alaska is a Disneyland for visitors and the Cruise ship is a historic and comfortable way to travel. And many passengers get true Alaskan experiences on there day trips at the different ports of call. Especially for Families and groups who don't want to deal with the logistics of transportation, hotel, and activities. Cruises are a great way to go for ALOT of travelers to Alaska.
